Discover a fascinating underground fortress. Built between 1940 and 1943 it was built to protect the two potential penetration roads to the area of Grand Saint-Bernard and Val Ferret (Switzerland). The fortification was used by the Swiss army until 1988. It is entirely burrowed in the rock, and it has more than 600m of corridors and rooms within the mountain. The fortification has four shooting casemates which are divided into two batteries. The last time that the 10.5cm guns were fired was in 1986. The garrison of the fort has varied between 150 and 300 men in the course of time.
During your visit you can discover the machine-room, the filter room, the store of munitions, the operating theatre and infirmary, the vast accommodations, the shooting casement, and much more
