The installations dating back to 1877 were totally renovated in 1987 in order to ensure maximum safety. They are certainly worth a visit.

How to get there:

a) By car: proceed in the direction of the Great St. Bernard via Les Valettes-Champex (parking nearby)
b) By train: take the Martigny-Orsieres railways (10 minutes from the Bovernier train station)
c) On foot from Martigny (6km on the Borgeaud fitness path which is excellently maintained and well signposted


A visit takes approximately an hour, and it is possible to return by a footpath. This promenade with its galleries extending for about one kilometre leads past fourteen waterfalls of this rough and raging torrent. A recently constructed bridge makes it possible to cross the Durnand and to admire this natural beauty from close up.
