Ski in Champex Lac
The Swiss ski resort of Champex-Lac is one of the friendliest ski stations in Switzerland and has access to 25km of downhill piste. With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable and the pistes are nearly always crowd free. This year there is a new poma lift called Petit Breya. This runs up alongside the lower part of the black piste giving a good steep red run down to the village. There is also a delightful nursery slope in the village with a poma lift. Ideal for novice skiers and children alike. For more information visit the ski lift operator Téléchampex You can see an image of the Champex Lac piste map here You can rent skis, snowboards, boots, raquets and ice skates from Look Sport in the centre of the village. English spoken. Tel: 027 783 38 00 / Email Champex houses a small branch of the Swiss Snow-sports School (SSS). The small lower piste is floodlit at night, and other activities include a 7-km toboggan run from La Breya, a natural half-pipe and an ice-climbing pyramid. There is also a small ice rink beside the Fort d'Artilerrie. You will need your own ice skates.
