The new poma lift, which leaves from the existing station, will take you part of the way up the black run giving you a good fast run down. Staying in Champex Places to Visit in Champex Lac: Fort d'Artillerie Discover a fascinating underground fortress. Built between 1940 and 1943 it was built to protect the two potential penetration roads to the area of Grand Saint-Bernard and Val Ferret (Switzerland). The fortification was used by the Swiss army until 1988. It is entirely burrowed in the rock, and it has more than 600m of corridors and rooms within the mountain.
