Welcome to Champex Lac...Summer at Champex Lac Summer has arrived here at Champex Lac. The temperatures have soared and the walkers and holiday makers have returned. A splendid shiny silver ball in the centre of the lake anounces the new exhibition of sculptures and installations by Etienne Krähenbühl at the Jardin Flore-Alpe which is on until 3rd October. Staying in Champex Places to Visit in Champex Lac: Fort d'Artillerie Discover a fascinating underground fortress. Built between 1940 and 1943 it was built to protect the two potential penetration roads to the area of Grand Saint-Bernard and Val Ferret (Switzerland). The fortification was used by the Swiss army until 1988. It is entirely burrowed in the rock, and it has more than 600m of corridors and rooms within the mountain.
